Thanks Kate and Holly for a wonderful evening and an incredible meal - and thanks for deciding NOT to get theme food. (I was dreading porridge and whey.) The book was a hit, the discussion lively, and we laughed a lot.

Personally I was delighted to bring my friend Cathy Mac, after talking about her the entire time I've been in bookclub (20 years). She will join us starting in 2009, and I am looking forward to it. She's been gone from the Bay Area way too long.

Next meeting will be at Serina's on Thursday, October 9th. The book? Alison Bechdel's autobiography FUN HOME. I started to say it is a graphic autobiograpy, but that makes it sound X-rated. Actually, she is a cartoonist, and so it is rendered in amazing drawings and prose.
