Maybe Graphic Novels ARE a good idea

Thanks Serina for a fantastic evening. It was also quite interesting to discuss FUN HOME, and to pay homage to Alison Bechdel for this: she showed that to make a graphic novel (or in this case autobiography) work, good writing is still vital. Her poignant prose and "deep" drawings combined to make this a fascinating read.

Next meeting: November 18th at Ricia's. The book: MONIQUE AND THE MANGO RAINS by Kris Holloway. I have a feeling we will also be dissecting the election and the economy as well.

Hi ladies!

I enjoy coming into book clubs who discuss my book, even if it's by speaker phone (I'm on the east coast; you're on the west). But perhaps we can arrange a time...

Thanks for choosing to read Monique!
